Welcome to the Boddy Lab!
The Boddy lab is focused on harnessing biosynthetic pathways to produce complex molecules. Using synthetic chemistry, chemical biology, and synthetic biology, we try to determine how microorganisms construct complex biologically active molecules. We then try to take advantage of these biosynthetic pathways to produce complex natural products and their analogs. This provides us with the necessary compounds to develop enzyme inhibitors, study mechanisms of action, or determine structure-activity relationships.
